MORF® began at the University of York as a solution for the IB Catalyst funded DETOX project that investigated the microbial stress response during bioproduction to identify targets for strain engineering. This interdisciplinary collaboration needed an intuitive platform to integrate and interpret complex multi-omics data. Originally called DETOXbase, we built a secure, web-based platform to enable the team to explore this data with ease.

As demand grew beyond our own projects, we rebranded as MORF®—the Multi-Omics Research Factory. Now MORF® supports researchers worldwide, both academic and industrial, to explore microbial bioinformatics analyses.

To address the challenge of integrating fermentation data during scale up, we’ve developed an intuitive interface for uploading multi-scale bioprocess data giving quick, interactive visualisation and comparison that saves hours of data processing.

The MORF® team brings experience of lab-based microbial research, led by Professor Gavin Thomas, and can help researchers design experiments and evaluate results for actionable insights.
